Here's what I have so far:
As someone who loves music, it probably comes as no surprise that the songs you listen to can play a significant role in your life. Music is everywhere: it's played during commercials, on the radio and in movie theaters. It can also be heard in restaurants, stores and even elevators! While many people are easily influenced by music because of its sheer prevalence, did you know that there are many other reasons why music affects your life? This article will discuss how music influences your memories as well as how to use music to help you remember things more effectively.
Music can range from soothing to inspiring, and all of these moods can have an effect on you. Have you ever been listening to a sad song, only to find yourself feeling depressed? Conversely, are you ever listening to a happy song, only for it to make you feel happier? This is called the mood-congruent memory effect. Simply put: your current mood can affect the music that you like as well as what types of songs will remember.
While researchers in the area of music psychology have long known about this effect, new research has allowed scientists to explore how this happens.
