Welcome to the home of the intellectual series “Gyan Varsha presenting धी: Rockstars of India” at IIM-Raipur. With this monthly talk series, we will engage with visionaries, innovators, and leaders who have dedicated their life for the betterment of our country, making them the true rockstars of India. Our Gyan Varsha series brings together academia, industry, and purpose-driven speakers in an informal intellectual and social environment.
Title of the Talk: "Journey from Centre to Margins: Challenges in Service Delivery"
Our speaker for our fourth chapter of Gyan Varsha is:
Dr. Kuladhar Saikia, Ex-DGP / Assam, President - Asam Sahitya Sabha
Kula Saikia, an Indian Police Service officer and a PhD from IIT, had his Post Graduation in Economics from Delhi School of Economics after which he was teaching Economics for a while in the Hindu College, Delhi University. Presently he is the President of Assam Sahitya Sabha, a century old literary organization after he superannuated as Director General of Police, Assam. Shri Saikia was a Fulbright Scholar at Pennsylvania State University, USA and also worked as a consultant in World Bank, Washington DC for a short while. He was awarded President’s Police Medal twice. His community policing initiative called Project Prahari to fight against social prejudices like witch hunting has been widely appreciated in the country and abroad. Sahitya Academy Award Winner Shri Saikia has got 25 short story collections, 5 plays and a novel to his credit.
